Gambit is an online US stock exchange platform, allowing SEA investors, especially Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore to buy fractional shares of US stocks starting from $1. With a mission to democratize access to global financial opportunities, Gambit provides a seamless and user-friendly platform that enables investors to buy and sell US stocks with ease.
We dive into different designs, swiftly testing them through experiments, interviews, surveys, and peer reviews. This helps us identify what works effectively and what areas require improvement. We relied on our team's expertise, basic needs, common sense, and critical thinking to guide our decision-making process.
We understand that the process of opening an account can often be long and tedious, which can cause users to lose interest and abandon the journey. Therefore, we have incorporated a gamification element into the process, whereby users are rewarded with some cashes for every KYC page they complete. Furthermore, if users need to take a break and return to the process later, they can easily resume where they left off from the homepage.
For newcomers to investing, selecting the right stocks can be quite a challenge. To assist with this, we've compiled a list of reputable US companies that can serve as a source of investment inspiration. Moreover, our goal is to promote investing rather than trading. As a result, our initial version prioritizes the display of key statistics and latest important news about the companies.
Unlike many investment apps that offer complex order placement experiences tailored to expert traders, we recognize the challenges newcomers often face. To address this, we've streamlined the process by eliminating unnecessary details, focusing solely on the order amount and the number of shares they wish to purchase.
This project is the MVP version of our stock investing app which still has limited functionalities. For the next phase, we aim to cater the needs not only investors, but the traders too. Designing this project taught me to think creatively and see everything from many different point of view, especially when you're lacking of research team. As a designer, I've learned that depending solely on intuition isn't enough, validating design ideas should be done and it can be as simple as seeking others' perspectives on our designs.
